The bodice and sleeves are made of embroidered lace: floral motifs in pale mauve and pink tones, accented with silver glints that catch the light as you move. The skirt is made of two layers. Silk satin provides weight and luminosity, but is visible only through the central opening. Over it, chiffon floats and softens the whole. This layering gives the bottom of the dress its movement without taking away its structure.

Why a two-layered skirt?
Because each one does something the other cannot. Silk satin provides weight and shine, but worn alone it clings to the body. Chiffon drapes and softens, but lacks structure on its own. Layered together, they create a skirt that moves without ever clinging.
Is this Moroccan kaftan modest?
Very much so. Long sleeves reaching the wrists, an asymmetrical neckline that does not reveal the décolletage, and an opaque double-layered skirt. This is a piece that can be worn without alterations in a traditional or religious setting.
Should I wear gold or silver jewelry with this Moroccan kaftan?
The embroidery combines silver highlights with a copper-toned belt ornament: both metals are already present. Silver will echo the lace's sequins and keep the outfit cool-toned; rose gold will complement the belt ornament and warm up the overall look. Avoid bright yellow gold, which would clash with the mauve.
