What is nacarat?
A bright orangey red, somewhere between coral and pomegranate. The word is old and rarely used today, but it precisely describes this warm shade, which is neither quite red nor quite orange. On dark pink, it adds warmth without clashing.

This is a principle of traditional Moroccan clothing: the mdamma, or belt, deliberately contrasts with the dress rather than blending into it.
