How to care for your kaftan?
Clean
- Do not machine-wash or tumble-dry. Rhinestones and sequins may be damaged.
- Take the garment to a dry cleaner experienced with embroidery and beads.
- If you absolutely must wash your garment, and it has no rhinestones or sequins, it can be washed by hand or in a machine on a hand-wash cycle. The kaftan will lose its shape while drying; don't worry, it will regain its shape when ironed.
- For a fresh stain, dab with a damp cloth and a little Marseille soap, without rubbing.
- Never apply chemical stain remover directly to embroidery.
- The only product that is harmless for grease stains or rings is K2R
Care
- Hang it on a wide, padded hanger: a thin hanger leaves marks on the shoulders and distorts the fabric.
- A cotton garment bag, or wrap it in a towel or sheet, never in plastic - the fabric needs to breathe.
- Iron on the reverse side, or place a thin cloth between the iron and the embroidery.
- To remove wrinkles, steaming from a distance is better than using an iron; always iron on the reverse side.
Protect
- Protect from direct sunlight: colors and gold threads lose their shine in the sun.
- A well-ventilated wardrobe, away from moisture.
- Lavender or cedar sachets to repel moths - mothballs leave an odor that never goes away.
- The perfume is sprayed on
