On September 26, 2026, eight Mode & Caftan creations walked the runway at Villa Patti in Caltagirone, Sicily. Amel Sediri presented Moroccan kaftan at the Gran Galà international MediterraneArte, alongside nine other designers.
This was the second edition of this gala dedicated to fashion, art, and music. Villa Patti was full. Here is what was seen there and what the Sicilian press had to say about it.
An international evening at Villa Patti
Caltagirone is one of the Baroque towns of the Val di Noto, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gala was held at its Villa Patti on Saturday, September 26, at 7:30 p.m.
The organizers, Totò Bizzini and Teresa Inzirillo, brought fashion, music, and entertainment together under the patronage of the Sicilian Region, the Metropolitan City of Catania, and the municipality of Caltagirone. Irene Randis hosted the evening.
The program included a folk group, singers, a pianist, and a fire performance by the Ukrainian artist Natalia. Totò Bizzini's handcrafted coffe, traditional Sicilian objects, had their own fashion show. The evening also made room for inclusion, with people with disabilities on stage.
Several distinguished guests were present: the consul of the Kingdom of Morocco for Sicily, Maryem Nassif; the honorary consul of Switzerland in Sicily, Carlotta Lombardo; and the mayor of Caltagirone, Fabio Roccuzzo.
Ten designers from six countries
Five Italian designers and five from elsewhere. Their creations were showcased with models from the area, styled and made up by the Bellessere academy. The choreography was created by Agata Maria Cosentino, herself a designer.

Eight Mode & Caftan creations on the runway
Amel Sediri presented eight designs from the Mode & Caftan collection. Each one is made by our artisans.
On a runway, the finishing details are just as visible as the cut. The sfifa, a vertical decorative band made to measure for each piece, catches the light. The accompanying aqaads, these handcrafted buttons, close the line.
Here are the eight designs that appeared on the runway, each with its own page in the boutique:
- Lizya: takchita in white lace scattered with fuchsia flowers.
- Lauren: prestigious takchita in high-end lace and silk cloth.
- Orvana: brown velvet officer-collar kaftan embroidered with gold, featuring a double skirt.
- Orelysse: kaftan, trousers, and velvet vest ensemble.
- Zephyra: high-collar kaftan in ivory lace embroidered in blue and gold, with a blue velvet vest.
- Beverly Jade: off-the-shoulder kaftan in floral lace.
- Ryeme: three-piece takchita in purple crepe, gold lamé, and lace.
- Thessalya: short white lace kaftan, open high collar, straight skirt.
I represented Morocco on this runway with pride and great joy. Caltagirone's hospitality touched me.
The kaftan and the Mediterranean
Morocco and Sicily face each other across the Mediterranean. That evening, the Moroccan consul was in the audience, and two designers presented Moroccan creations.
The kaftan took its place alongside Italian, Colombian, Ukrainian, and Indian designs. For 18 years, Mode & Caftan has championed Moroccan craftsmanship, with cuts designed for today's women.
Being invited to this gala meant showing that this garment speaks to everyone.
What the press had to say
Three Sicilian newspapers mention Amel Sediri among the gala's designers.
- Prima Stampa, September 28: the report on the evening. It mentions a packed Villa Patti and ranks Amel Sediri among the five international designers. Photos by Francesco Belvedere.
