The jacket makes the piece. Its gold embroidery traces delicate motifs across the velvet without ever covering it—the gold works in touches, where the eye naturally rests, leaving the rest in shadow. A fully embroidered jacket would have overwhelmed the silhouette; this one gives it structure.
