The sleeveless Moroccan under-caftan is cut from silver lamé that catches the light all along its length. It is not meant to be worn alone: its role is to illuminate from underneath the over-caftan that covers it.
The latter is made of tulle lace, embroidered with floral motifs and enhanced with silver rhinestones that echo the shimmer of the lamé. The sleeves create a slightly flared double-sleeve effect—a volume that breaks up the fitted line of the rest and adds movement to the slightest gesture.

Yes. Ambrine is a complete takchita: the silver lamé under-caftan, lace over-caftan, and jeweled-stone belt form a single ensemble.
What is the difference between a takchita and a caftan?
The caftan is a single-piece garment, while the takchita consists of two: an under-caftan worn next to the body and an over-caftan worn on top, often made from a more elaborate fabric. The takchita is traditionally worn for major occasions, whereas the caftan is worn more broadly.
What size is available?
Ambrine is currently available only in size 36, in limited quantities. It is no longer available in another size because we produce in small quantities.
Can the under-caftan be worn on its own?
It was not designed for that. Sleeveless and made of lamé, it serves as a luminous lining beneath the lace—the layering creates the look, but it can be worn on its own with the belt for a more modern style.
How should tulle lace and silver lamé be cared for?
Dry clean only. Neither fabric is suitable for machine washing, and direct ironing damages both the lamé and the rhinestones. Store the garment on a hanger, without folding the skirt at the scalloped edge.
